Believing

from Love Like a Wave by Ash Wanders

/

about

This is the oldest song on the album
i wrote it in 1991 when i was 21 but did not record it to my satisfaction back then. here it provides the healing resolve for the end of an album such as this. the songwriting is influenced by Marty-Willson-Piper of 'The Church'

lyrics

i want to grow and feel so free
that tears will flow and fears will go
and leave me being me just me

i want to flow into your heart
and go back to the very start
to feel the pain loss and joy

Shame like blame cuts you like a knife
poisons your life
until you feel so drained you will reach out to anyone for some life
but sometimes from fear wont know when to let go

just try to see why
and simply learn to be
just try to see why and simply learn to believe

im here alone
its me just me
i cant delude myself anymore
that you're still out there for me
but i dont have to forget you

Think of all the joyful moments
spent in front of sympathetic ears and eyes
that allowed you to express yourself
for such a large part of our lives
